Connect any MCP tool to WordPress. Two ways that always fit.
If your tool can sign in with OAuth, one address is enough. If it can send a header, a token is enough. The plugin shows both, ready to copy, for Claude Code, Codex, your editor or your own script.
Needs the AlphaBridge plugin on your site: free on WordPress.org, or Pro and Agency from the pricing page.
An address or a token.
Both start read-only. You allow changes once, in WordPress.
One address, you approve on your site
For tools that sign in with OAuth. Add the address, sign in to WordPress when the tool asks, and allow the connection. No token, up to 10 sites in one connection.
https://
The window belongs to our free connection service. It passes your content through without storing it. Details are in its privacy notice.
Straight to your site, with your own key
For tools and scripts that send a header. In WordPress, open Settings → AlphaBridge MCP, choose Other and click Create connection: read only, content only or full, with an expiry if you like.
https://your-site.tld/wp-json/alphabridge/v1/mcp
Send the token with every request as Authorization: Bearer YOUR-TOKEN. If a tool drops that header, send it as X-Api-Key. The site address and the token are shown in the plugin; the token only once.
What can your tool do?
| Your tool … | Use |
|---|---|
| signs in with OAuth | Way 1: the address of the connection service |
| sends its own headers | Way 2: your site's address and a token |
| takes only an address, with no password field | The address with the token in it. Switch it on in the plugin and treat it like a password. |
| starts servers only on your computer | mcp-remote with a token, like the config for Cursor (Node.js 18 or newer) |
Pick what you work with.
Claude Code
With sign-in: add the address, run /mcp in Claude Code, choose alphabridge and Authenticate, then approve on your site.
claude mcp add --transport http alphabridge https://connect.alphabridge-mcp.com/mcp
With a token: the plugin shows this command with your address and token. Run it in your project folder.
claude mcp add --transport http alphabridge https://your-site.tld/wp-json/alphabridge/v1/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR-TOKEN"
Codex
Add the address. Codex opens the sign-in in your browser; you approve on your site.
codex mcp add alphabridge --url https://connect.alphabridge-mcp.com/mcp
To sign in again later, run codex mcp login alphabridge. Codex links one site per entry; for a second site, add another entry, such as alphabridge-shop.
VS Code
In the Command Palette, run MCP: Add Server, choose HTTP and enter the address. On the first connection, a browser window opens, and you approve on your site. Prefer a file? This is the entry for .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"alphabridge": { "type": "http", "url": "https://connect.alphabridge-mcp.com/mcp" }
}
}
Windsurf · Devin Desktop
Windsurf is now called Devin Desktop. Add the address with the Devin CLI. On first use, Devin asks you to sign in, and you approve on your site.
devin mcp add alphabridge https://connect.alphabridge-mcp.com/mcp
Your own script
Any program that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP can call your site directly, for example with an official MCP SDK. Create a token in the plugin under Other and send it as a header.
POST https://your-site.tld/wp-json/alphabridge/v1/mcp
Authorization: Bearer YOUR-TOKEN
Your tool is missing? If it signs in with OAuth, add the address of way 1. Otherwise use your site's address and a token.
Each connection may only do what you allow.
Starts read-only
Nothing changes without your OK. An administrator switches on write access once, at your own risk and with a current backup.
A scope per token
Read only, content only or full, with an expiry in days. Rotate a token, and the old one stops working at once.
A log in WordPress
The last 200 tool calls with user, tool and result.
Questions about other MCP clients.
Which MCP clients work with AlphaBridge?
Every client that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP and either signs in with OAuth or sends a header. Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor have their own guides.
Is the token safe?
The token is shown in full only once, and the site keeps only a hash of it. Rotate it under Your connections, and the old token stops working at once.
Which access level should I choose?
With read only, the client sees what the account may see and changes nothing. With content only, it also changes posts, pages, media, terms and comments. The level full adds settings and administration. Whatever you pick, the site's switch for write access decides whether anything is written.
Can a tool change my site right away?
No. After installing, AlphaBridge only reads. An administrator switches on write access once, at the top of the AlphaBridge MCP settings page. The switch holds for every connection.
