Connect ChatGPT to WordPress. In three steps.
AlphaBridge turns your WordPress site into an MCP server. MCP is the open standard through which AI assistants use tools. In ChatGPT, you add your site as an MCP app and approve on your site.
The trial needs no card · Or start free: 40 tools on WordPress.org
What you need.
- ChatGPT Plus or higher. Plus and Pro work. So do Business, Enterprise and Edu. The free ChatGPT does not.
- AlphaBridge on your site. The free plugin from WordPress.org is enough to start. It has 40 tools and needs no account.
- An administrator login. You approve the connection with your WordPress administrator account.
From ChatGPT to your site.
Create the app in ChatGPT
Sign in to ChatGPT and open Plugins. Choose Add, then Create MCP app.
Enter your site
Give the app a name. Paste your site's endpoint as the server URL. Choose OAuth and leave the advanced fields empty. Tick the box that you trust the app.
https://your-site.com/wp-json/alphabridge/v1/mcp
The plugin shows this address with a copy button under Settings → AlphaBridge MCP.
Approve on your site
ChatGPT opens your site's consent page in the same tab. Sign in and choose the access level. Then allow access.
Then open a chat with the app and say what you need. For changes, switch on write access once on your site.
Directly or through the hub.
Directly
ChatGPT talks straight to your site, through its endpoint. Nothing passes through our servers.
Through the free hub
Enter this server URL instead:
https://connect.alphabridge-mcp.com/mcp
You then enter your site's address and approve on your site. The hub brings up to 10 sites into one chat, in every edition.
The hub stores your sites' access keys encrypted, in the EU. It passes content through without storing it. Details are in the hub's privacy notice.
What ChatGPT does on your site.
Plain words are enough. ChatGPT picks the right tool.
Write and publish
ChatGPT turns your notes into posts and pages. It adds images, sets categories and schedules the date.
Look after the site
ChatGPT answers comments and marks spam. It lists pending updates and reports on the site's health.
Page builders, code, shop
With Pro, ChatGPT also edits page-builder texts, code and your shop. Pro also brings a way back for pages and files.
- Free“Write a post from these notes and schedule it for Friday.”
- Free“Approve the new comments and answer the question about opening hours.”
- Pro“Change the button on the home page to ‘Book now’.”
You decide what ChatGPT may change.
Out of the box AlphaBridge only reads. An administrator switches on write access at the top of Settings → AlphaBridge MCP. The switch holds for every connection: Claude, ChatGPT and all others.
Changes then take effect immediately and can be destructive. Switching it on is at your own risk, so keep a current backup. One click turns write access off again.
On the consent page, you also choose the access level of this connection. With read-only access, ChatGPT gets no tools that write. ChatGPT can only do what your WordPress account may do.
Good to know.
- Changed the access level? ChatGPT keeps the old list of tools. Refresh the tools in the app's settings in ChatGPT.
- ChatGPT may ask first. Before edits and deletions, ChatGPT can ask for your OK and show the details. Check them before you allow it.
- Give it a moment. ChatGPT can think for half a minute or more before it answers.
- Other clients. Claude connects through its connector directory. Cursor, Claude Code and other MCP clients connect with a token.
