Connect Cursor to WordPress. With one click.
You build in Cursor and switch to the WordPress dashboard for every page, every update and every error. With AlphaBridge, Cursor's agent does it right in the editor: content and SEO, with Pro theme and plugin files, the database and the error log, with Agency the deploy to your own hosting.
Needs the AlphaBridge plugin on your site: free on WordPress.org, or Pro and Agency from the pricing page.
What you need.
- Cursor. The desktop app on Mac, Windows or Linux.
- AlphaBridge on your site. The free plugin from WordPress.org is enough to start. It has 40 tools and needs no account.
- An administrator login. You approve the connection with your WordPress administrator account.
Two ways. You choose.
Both start read-only. You allow changes once, in WordPress.
One click, then approve on your site
- Click Add to Cursor. Cursor opens and asks you to confirm.
- In Cursor, open Customize → MCPs and start the sign-in next to alphabridge.
- Enter your site's address, sign in to WordPress as usual, choose what Cursor may do and allow it.
No token, no Node.js. Up to 10 sites in one connection.
The window belongs to our free connection service. It passes your content through without storing it. Details are in its privacy notice.
Prefer to add it by hand? Put these lines into ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"alphabridge": {
"url": "https://connect.alphabridge-mcp.com/mcp"
}
}
}
Straight to your site, with your own key
- In WordPress, open Settings → AlphaBridge MCP, choose Cursor and click Create connection. You can limit it to read only or content only and set an expiry in days.
- Copy the config the plugin shows. It appears only this once.
- Paste it into ~/.cursor/mcp.json, save and reload the servers.
Needs Node.js 18 or newer. Nothing passes through our servers.
{
"mcpServers": {
"alphabridge": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["mcp-remote", "https://your-site.tld/wp-json/alphabridge/v1/mcp", "--header", "Authorization:${AUTH}"],
"env": { "AUTH": "Bearer YOUR-TOKEN" }
}
}
}
That's it. From now on, just tell Cursor's agent what to do on your site. Try it: “Which posts did I publish last?”
You stay in control. After installing, Cursor can only read. If it should make changes too, switch on “Write access for AI assistants” once, at the top of Settings → AlphaBridge MCP. The switch holds for every connection, and changes then take effect immediately and can be destructive. You switch it on at your own risk, so keep a current backup. One click turns it off again.
More sites? With the connection service, ask the agent to add another site. You approve on that site, and up to 10 sites work in one connection. With a token, add one entry per site, such as alphabridge-shop.
Tell the agent.
The first two work right after you connect. The others need write access: code, the error log and the database with Pro, the deploy with Agency and Site Deploy set up.
- Free“List the pages with their status and last change.”
- Free“Which plugins and themes have updates waiting?”
- Pro“Show me style.css of the active theme and match the colors to our design.”
- Pro“Read the error log and tell me which plugin causes the error.”
- Agency“Deploy the build folder to the site over SFTP.”
Full power, with a net.
Starts read-only
Nothing changes without your OK. One switch, and the agent writes with full power.
Each connection with its own scope
Read only, content only or everything the account may do, with an expiry if you like. The last 200 calls stay in the log in WordPress.
One sentence, and it is back
With Pro, pages, files, snippets and settings come back, for up to 30 days.
Questions about Cursor and WordPress.
Do I need a token for Cursor?
No. With the connection service, you sign in to your site instead. A token is only needed if you connect straight to your site, without the service.
Can Cursor change my site right away?
No. After installing, AlphaBridge only reads. An administrator switches on write access once, at the top of the AlphaBridge MCP settings page.
Can Cursor work on several WordPress sites?
Yes. With the connection service, ask the agent to add another site and approve it on that site: up to 10 sites work in one connection, free in every edition. With a token, add one entry per site.
Do I need Pro for Cursor?
No. The free plugin gives Cursor 40 tools for content. Pro brings 135 tools, with theme and plugin files, the database and a way back. Agency adds Site Deploy.
Build, look after, go live. From Cursor.
Agency for $299 a year or $49 a month, with Site Deploy for client sites. Or start with Pro, free for 7 days.
